Thats right folks, in just over two weeks from now SSC will be hosting the D-12 Grand Prix for Standard rigs. This is open to Radials and 4.7s as well, and counts toward your championship series scores!       Contact Charlie Usher for housing needs, email and phone # are on the NOR.

Last Year 34 lasers turned out for a regatta during TS Barry.  RC held one hell of a race on Saturday, if you missed it, I wish you could have heard the rigging singing at the marina, and Charlie’s singing at the party Saturday night!

 NOR is here:    http://www.savannahsailingcenter.org/racing.htm

I hear several people and juniors are “training” on Wednesday evenings.  I hope all of you have had a chance to go sailing since Beaufort!

The Bruce Dorman Cup is This Saturday at Wrightsville Beach

Posted by Glenn on 01 May 2008 | Tagged as: News

The first CYC Ocean Race Day of the season is this Saturday May 3, 11:00 am start, with 3 races scheduled.  This Saturday also doubles as the Dorman Cup and the winner of the largest fleet will be the winner of the Dorman Cup. Last year we only had one more boat than the Lightning fleet.   Lets make sure a Laser wins again this year! The Club has invited any member of Laser District 12 to race in the ocean series.  To be a member of D12 you have to do is join the Laser Class and declare D12 as your district.  This pretty much means anybody with a Laser willing to join the Laser class can sail, so spread the word.  We can figure out a way for you to join the class Saturday morning if necessary.

If you don’t have it already, here is the website for the CYC sailing schedule.  In addition to the ocean series, there is a sound series on Tues nights each month with 6:15pm starts, starting May 20th.  Funsail every Thursday at 6:15, and other events through the season.       http://www.carolinayachtclub.org/sailingschedule.html

See you Saturday Martin Willard 182806
