Closer to home we are getting very close to our 1st Championship Event at Lake Norman April 21-22. This will be the Grand Prix event for the full rigs and also counts for the radial and 4.7 series. Lake Norman has excellent Race management, great venue and great food. You dont want to miss this regatta. Remember to bring your neoprene - the water in that lake is very cold this time of year. The following month CYC-NC is hosting the Laser Masters Nationals at Wrightsville Beach May 18-20. Trophies are here and ready to be awarded to the top 3 in every age category. Sign up now online at the Regatta Website.
Then Savannah Sailing Center hosts the 2nd District Championship Event June 2-3. That event is also a qualifier for the Oday’s. Check out the NOR for details.
Also not too early to make plans for our new event : The Radial Grand Prix to be held as part of CYC-SC’s open regatta July 28-29. CYC-SC has done a lot of work to their launching area with a huge new ramp and dock. Should be a blast to go back to Charleston for some fun in the harbor.

Clearwater inlet in 25-30 knots.
28 Sailors made it to Lake Lanier for Laser Southerns last weekend. Heard the wind was nuking. Click here for the results.
Posted a few pictures from Clearwater. Speaking of the wind nuking, only 14 of 60 masters braved the wind in the sound for the only day of racing in the Masters Midwinters. That same day there were some brave souls who tested the gulf. The last picture shows what can happen in those conditions. Scuttlebutt and John Payne posted some cool pictures from the Midwinters East. Check the calendar for results.
Frostbiting continues in D12. Had very little frost yesterday at Wrightsville.
Our 1st D12 Championship Event is rapidly approaching. Lake Norman Yacht Club will be our host April 21-22, 2007. Click here for the NOR. Remember this is the Grand Prix event for the full rigs , and also counts toward overall, radial and 4.7 series trophies. The radials will have their separate Grand Prix event in Charleston in July.
NOR’s are up for the Laser Masters US Nationals in Wrightsville Beach, 2nd D12 Championship Event in Savannah and the NC Masters in Oriental. Will post NOR’s on the calendar and the upcoming events section as they arrive.
