D12 Saiing moves a bit more north this weekend with the Laser Southerns at Lake Lanier. Those guys have been practicing all winter in their frostbite series. Check out a few of these photos. Great club , great racing , great food - dont miss out.
D12 sailors were seen at all three of the masters races in Florida this month. In addition D12 also was represented in the Midwinters East in both the radial and full rig fleets. Check the sites on the calendar to see the results.
Have posted the NOR for our First D12 Championship Regatta to be held at Lake Norman April 21-22. This will be a Grand Prix Event for the full rigs but not the radials. However the regatta will still count for the radials and 4.7’s in determining their series results. Check the Series NOR for details .
Also here is another plug for the Laser Masters Nationals at Wrightsville in May. Make your plans now.

Congratulations to Krysta Rohde whose hard work in Florida has qualified her to sail in the Olympic Trials in the Laser Radial coming up this October. Thats a super accomplishment and we all wish her well.
Speaking of Florida , the D12 Masters have already started their invasion. Heard we had some participation at the Royal Turkey Regatta in West Palm and suspect some will be doing the Midweek Masters race at Jensen Beach. This weekend there will be quite a group of Masters at the Master Midwinters in Clearwater. Take your radial rigs - Windguru - is calling for a blow.
Next week is the Midwinters East which is an extremely competitive regatta that is mostly attracting our younger sailors. There is nothing like sailing at these regattas in the winter to keep your skills up - even those of us who have few skills.
Have posted the NOR and Regatta guidelines for 2007. Please note that our 1st District Championship is at Lake Norman on April 21 and 22. This is our Grand Prix event for Full rigs but counts for both the overall ,radial and 4.7 trophies. Thats right, we will giving out our first 4.7 trophy this year. So you juniors who want to take home a D12 trophy this is your big chance. Be the first one to put your name on it.
Getting back to the Masters , just a reminder that we are hosting the Laser Masters Nationals at Wrightsville May18-20. Suspect we will have a good crowd as we are on D11’s schedule. Come join us in the ocean - it is usually a beautiful time of year to sail at Wrightsville.
